DQMS Certification
In order to enhance the production and quality capacity of munitions produced by military supply companies, various quality certification systems for the defense are operated.
Definition(Concept)
The certification system for defense quality management is a system that is executed for an efficient implementation of the QA activities of the government. When a munitions company applies for certification to the DTaQ, we inspect the operation and maintenance of the defense quality management system of the company. When they fulfill all the requirements, we grant them certificate.
Introduction of Certification System
The base documents for the certification of the defense quality management system is KDS 0050-9000-3 (requirement for the defense quality management system), which is based on the ISO 9001 and added the specific requirements from the military. The overview of requirements is as below:

Qualifications for Certification of Defense Quality Management System
- • companies with experience of producing/supplying munitions, or related outsourcing companies (partners), or• companies that want to be supplier for munitions and produce the identical items that need to be procured to the military,• that the defense quality management system is established according to kds 0050-9000-3 and has been executed at least for more than 6 months and the internal deliberation and management review have been conducted at least once.

• Profit compensation when pricing for defense material: maximum 1% of total cost added
• Extra credit for evaluating for selecting R&D company for weapons system: appropriate section 0.4 point, other section 0.2 point
• Extra credit for selecting supporting project applicants for weapons system modification and development: 3% added for the evaluation grade (when design and development are included)
• Extra credit for selecting applicants for nurturing small-but-strong companies for global defense business: 1 point (when design and development are included)DTaQ • There are possibilities of reducing the governmental QA activities’ subjects
